Civil Engineering and Development Building
Characteristic
The Civil Engineering and Development Building was opened in 1976 and completed its renovation works in 2003. The 17-storey building occupies a site area of around 3,900 sq m, and is equipped with a glass curtain entrance and lobby, together with an outdoor podium and a 4-storey underground car park. After entering the building through the main entrance, one can reach the reception desk and lift lobby. The other side of the lobby is equipped with an automatic sliding door, which connects to a passenger pick-up/drop-off area of the podium.

How to Apply
Send the application form to Public Relations Unit with information on the exact location, date, time, synopsis of the film, description and scripts of relevant scenes, size of the crew and cast, number of vehicles and use of government power supply.
Processing time : 14 working days.
Fees
$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. Both are to be paid before filming.
If extra government personnel or equipment is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

Applicants may be required to effect adequate public liability insurance at their own expense.
Remarks
- Filming can only take place during non-office hours.
- The film crew should strictly follow the instructions of the authorized staff of Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD).
- The applicant shall ensure that no nuisance, disturbance or inconvenience is caused during filming. No damage shall be caused to the property.
- Alterations, fixing or painting to the property is not allowed.
- Lighting of fire and use of fireworks, explosives and any pyrotechnic material are strictly prohibited.
- The name of CEDD venue shall not be identified unless prior permission has been sought and obtained.
- The nature of the film shall not be a cause of embarrassment to the HKSAR Government, CEDD or any occupants of the property, nor should it offend the Laws of Hong Kong or be of immoral, defamatory or political flavour.
- The applicant should clean the venue up to the satisfaction of CEDD after the filming.
- Applications will be considered on case-by-case basis and the final decision of acceptance rests on CEDD.
